Information on this site — including deadline summaries and calculators — is general information about state lien statutes, not advice about your project. Statutes change and are strictly construed; confirm every requirement independently or with counsel before acting.

Sponsoring attorneys

Attorneys appear on this site in one of two ways, depending on the state. In some states one independent licensed lawyer holds an annual advertising position for a federal judicial district and pays Lien.Claims a flat yearly fee for it. In the rest, every listed attorney in the state is shown and you choose among them; in South Carolina no attorney pays anything at all, and the firm that operates this site is one of the listings. Where a fee is paid it is a flat annual advertising fee, set before anyone knows what claims will arrive. It is not a referral fee, is never paid per claim or per contact, and involves no sharing of legal fees. Lien.Claims does not analyze your legal situation when deciding which attorneys to display, does not recommend or endorse any attorney, and does not supervise or guarantee any attorney’s work. If you engage an attorney, your engagement, fees, and attorney–client relationship are directly and exclusively with that attorney.

No attorney–client relationship

Using this site, submitting a form, or purchasing a document package does not create an attorney–client relationship with Lien.Claims or with any attorney. An attorney–client relationship with a sponsoring attorney arises only when you and that attorney sign an engagement agreement.

Deadlines

Deadline calculators produce planning estimates from the single date you enter. Real deadlines can turn on notice prerequisites, project type, completion events, and facts a calculator cannot know. If a deadline matters — and with liens it always does — verify it with a lawyer in the project’s state.

Common ownership

Lien.Claims and Lien.Solutions are operated by the same company. They are separate products with separate pricing, and each is run under its own name — but they are not independent of one another, and the attorneys you are shown for a given property are the same on both. If you are weighing one against the other, weigh the products; you are not choosing between two unconnected firms.
