Alaska notice of right to lien

In Alaska this notice is optional. Giving it to the owner before you start work has two effects. First, if you later enforce a lien, the owner has to prove it did not know of or consent to your work, instead of you having to prove that it did. Second, if the owner records a notice of completion, claimants who have not given or recorded a Notice of Right to Lien may have only 15 days to record a lien; claimants who gave the notice generally keep the full 120 days (AS 34.35.064, 34.35.068).
