Louisiana notice under La. R.S. 9:4804

Louisiana does not have a general preliminary notice. A notice is required only from (1) a design professional not hired by the owner, within 30 days after being engaged; (2) an equipment lessor, within 30 days after the equipment first arrives on site (a late notice limits the rent you can recover); and (3) a supplier who sold materials to a subcontractor, when a notice of contract was filed: a notice of nonpayment to the owner and the contractor within 75 days after the end of each month in which unpaid materials were delivered (La. R.S. 9:4804). If none of these describes you, you do not need this document.
