Utah preliminary notice

In Utah this notice is a condition of the lien for everyone, including the general contractor. File it on the State Construction Registry within 20 days after you start work. If you never file it, you have no lien. If you file it late, your lien covers only work you provide starting five days after filing (Utah Code § 38-1a-501). It is filed on the Registry, not served; this page prepares a worksheet with what the Registry asks for.
