Wis. Stat. § 779.13 discharges the lien on satisfaction of the debt. Signing it while money is still owed puts a false statement on the public record and gives away the security you filed to protect. If you have been paid part of it, this is not the document you want — talk to a construction attorney about what is.

Where this gets filed: Clerk of the Circuit Court. THE COURT, NOT THE REGISTER OF DEEDS. Wisconsin construction liens are docketed with the clerk of circuit court under § 779.06(1), and on filing this satisfaction the clerk enters satisfaction of the claim on the judgment and lien docket.

No fixed day count: the duty arises on satisfaction OR TENDER of the claim, at the request of any person interested, and ON PAYMENT OF THE COSTS OF SATISFYING IT. But the penalty is the largest in the country — failure makes you liable to the person requiring it for A SUM EQUAL TO ONE HALF OF THE SUM CLAIMED IN THE CLAIM FOR LIEN (§ 779.13(1)).
